Manchester city-centre weight loss — 10 minutes south of Deansgate.

City-centre weight loss options tend to fall into two camps: high-volume corporate chains where you'll see a different prescriber every month, or pure online services where you never meet anyone. Trafford Clinic sits between them — same pharmacist, same building, every visit, ten minutes south of the centre.

We prescribe and dispense Mounjaro (tirzepatide) and Wegovy (semaglutide) on-site. Haroon Iqbal MPharm IP is your Independent Prescriber from free initial consultation through every monthly review.

Weight loss clinic for Manchester city centre patients

If your office or home is in the city centre, Trafford Clinic's GLP-1 weight loss programme is 15 minutes down the Altrincham Metrolink line. The clinic operates from Empire Pharmacy, 122 Seymour Grove, Old Trafford — GPhC-registered premises 1123966, led by Independent Prescriber Haroon Mohammad Iqbal MPharm, IP (GPhC reg. 2051093). Free initial consultation, no subscription, no auto-billing. We prescribe and dispense on-site — you don't deal with an online middleman or an offshore prescriber you've never met.

The clinical programme

We prescribe Mounjaro (tirzepatide, the dual GLP-1/GIP receptor agonist, NICE TA1026) and Wegovy (semaglutide 2.4mg, NICE TA875). Eligibility: BMI ≥30, or ≥27.5 with a comorbidity, with the 2.5-point lower threshold for South Asian, Chinese, Middle Eastern, Black African and African-Caribbean adults (NICE CG189). SURMOUNT-1 showed Mounjaro at ~21% weight loss at 72 weeks; STEP-1 showed Wegovy at ~15% at 68 weeks. Mounjaro escalates 2.5 → 5 → 7.5 → 10 → 12.5 → 15mg weekly; Wegovy 0.25 → 0.5 → 1 → 1.7 → 2.4mg weekly. We follow MHRA Drug Safety Updates and adjust dose for the inevitable first 4–8 weeks of GI side effects.

The city-centre professional angle

Most of our city-centre patients are working full-time, often with travel commitments. We do monthly reviews in 10–15-minute slots that fit a lunch break, and we always have your next month's medication in stock to dispense the same visit — no posting, no temperature-controlled couriering, no risk to the cold chain. If you travel often we'll write a short medication letter for airport security and walk you through cold-chain bag advice for long flights.

Baseline bloods and monitoring

Before any first prescription we recommend a baseline panel — HbA1c, U&E, LFTs, TSH/T3/T4, lipid profile, vitamin D — via our city centre blood tests service. UKAS-accredited lab, 24–48-hour results, IP-annotated. We repeat at 6 months. If your bloods flag a B12 deficiency (common in long-term metformin or PPI users) see our B12 injections page for the loading-dose pathway.
